Kate Bush’s ‘Working Up That Hill’ Is No. 1 – Billboard


Kate Bush completes a 36-year race to No. 1 in Australia, as “Working Up That Hill” (Warner) rises to the summit of the ARIA Chart.

The English singer’s 1985 music reentered the official survey at No. 2 final week, powered by its placement in season 4 of Netflix’s Stranger Issues.

When the most recent chart was revealed Friday (June 10), Bush lastly had the crown, with “Working” leapfrogging Harry Kinds’ “As It Was.”

It’s Bush’s first No. 1 because the ARIA period started in 1983, although her debut “Wuthering Heights” did lead the pre-ARIA survey in early 1978.

Bush solely wrote, produced and performs her Hounds of Love hit, which bounces into the highest 10 on either side of the Atlantic following its sync within the hit sci-fi sequence.

A number of new tracks affect the ARIA Singles Chart, dated June 13, 2022, together with Doja Cat’s “Vegas” (RCA/Sony), at No. 7.

“Vegas” is lifted from the soundtrack to the Elvis Presley biopic Elvis, helmed by Australian director Baz Luhrmann and filmed in these components.

Over on the ARIA Albums Chart, Kinds’ Harry’s Home (Columbia/Sony) stays put for a 3rd consecutive week at No. 1, holding off Put up Malone’s fourth and newest studio album Twelve Carat Toothache (Common), new at No. 2

Posty’s earlier albums Hollywood’s Bleeding (from 2019) and Beerbongs & Bentleys (2018) each debuted at No. 1.

Twelve Carat Toothache is the week’s high album debut, and its monitor “I Like You (A Happier Track)” is the highest-flying new launch on the ARIA Singles Chart, at No. 7.

Lastly, Melbourne metalcore act Thornhill completes the High 3 on the ARIA Albums Chart with Heroine (UNFD/Orchard). It’s the homegrown act’s second album, and first ARIA High Ten look.
